Sound Pure's Take
In an ongoing quest for new sounds, Meinl has developed what may be one of their best options yet inside the Extra Dry series. Stepping away from the traditional lathing style on top of the cymbals, Meinl opted for the raw and tightly hammered look. The hammering adds focus and a trashy quality that is rarely achieved in modern cymbals. The lathed undersides knock down some weight and adds to the dark and smokey sounds.
From Meinl Cymbals
An earthy, raw top and fully lathed bottom combined with various sized holes makes this unique cymbal explode with a fast crash and a dry, short sustain. The low pitch and extra dry look make it a great cymbal for quick or trashy accents.
