Sound Pure's Take
This magnificent Boucher BG-252-G is a flagship bluegrass powerhouse that marries ultra-premium Canadian craftsmanship with explosive acoustic projection. Built around a master-grade, torrefied AAAA Adirondack red spruce top and hand-scalloped forward-shifted bracing, this 4-pound 14-ounce dreadnought yields a deeply mature, broken-in voice characterized by colossal headroom and quick, punchy note definition. The one-piece South American mahogany neck features a smooth satin finish that transitions effortlessly to a solid ebony fingerboard, offering a fast and reassuringly stable platform for blistering flatpicking runs and powerful rhythm work. Visually, this instrument is an absolute stunner, adorned with traditional herringbone purfling, curly maple body binding, a zigzag backstrip, and shimmering mother-of-pearl appointments. Rounded out by high-precision Gotoh SX510 open-gear tuners and a premium TKL tweed deluxe case, this high-gloss masterpiece delivers an authoritative, stage-ready performance for the discerning player.
From Boucher Guitars
Our BG-252 is crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists performing live or in the recording studio. Our guitars offer a large presence on stage due to the method of construction and choices of woods. The BG-252 is as "present" as all other bluegrass instruments whether you are strumming or soloing.
Robin Boucher personally selects Adirondack red spruce for the bracing and soundboard in order to give the instrument its special bluegrass sonority. Rich low ends, driving mids and beefy highs describe the sound spectrum of our Bluegrass Goose. This guitar is incredibly easy to play due to the elevated soundboard radius and the unique profile of the neck which will perfectly match the hand of the guitarist.
